It seems that the entire nation is waiting for the Union Finance Minister to present the annual budget, with bated breath. Now that the economic crises is over and the government has already declared that it will be pulling its economic stimulus back, the only thing that remains to be seen is how the finance minister handles the post crisis situation.

The coming budget will be Mr. Mukherjee’s second full budget and what most people are waiting to see is how the minister will decide to phase out the stimulus and what impact that will have on the economic growth as well as the common man.

The minister has already announced that bringing back fiscal discipline will be on top of the government’s agenda. The fiscal deficit, which had widened owing to the increased public spending by the government, is not a sign of a healthy economy and so all efforts will be directed towards filling up this gaping hole.
