The Chennai airport seemed like it had been struck by a carnival last evening. The cause for this jubilance was the long awaited arrival of Super Star Rajinikanth from Singapore. Hundreds of his fans surrounded the airport as he returned from his month long treatment. The excitement reached its peak when he arrived at the city at 10:15 p.m. via Singapore Airlines.
The fans wore T- shirts with the Star’s photo and danced happily as their mobile musical band played the famous numbers of the star. Fans had come to meet the star not only from the city but also from neighboring districts and suburban localities had come to greet the actor. A large number of policemen from Meenambakkam Police station and other police stations were appointed to enable free movement of traffic.
Doctor Rajinikanth had been ill for about 2-3 months prior to leaving to Singapore to obtain treatment for kidney related issues. On the final Friday of April, during the shoot of his upcoming movie ‘RANA’ directed by K.S. Ravikumar, the actor was admitted to St. Isabel after a short attack vomiting. After treating him for exhaustion and dehydration, he was discharged on the very same day.
To the dismay of the family members, friends and fans, the actor was again admitted in hospital for fever and breathlessness on May 4th. He spent a few days in the hospital to be treated for his ailment.
He was free of any illness for a brief period and was again admitted in Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre on May 13th. The actor complained of fluid retention, respiratory issues, gastro intestinal problems and fever. A week later he was shifted to ICU and started being under the supervision of ultra filtration and dialysis in order to alleviate the issues caused due to fluid retention. He was sufficiently recovered just to fly to Singapore for advance treatment on May 27th.
The media received a handwritten night from the star directed to his fans stating that he was deeply thankful for their support and he would start working on Rana as soon as his health permits.
The star also made calls to the director, other important crew members and Deepika Padukone to inform that the shooting would begin in September. The actress was thrilled for receiving a call from the super star. She affirmed the actor that she would extend her complete co-operation for the movie.
During the time the star was admitted in the hospital, there were depressing rumors about the star suffering from cancer. Some death rumors were also spread during the time. The fans were asked to keep their cool and not to believe anything until a family member of the star revealed anything. But all the while the star remained cheerful in his hospital room and was said to be enjoying the IPL and the victories of Chennai Super Kings.
Finally, all has ended well for the fans and well wishers of Super Star Rajinikanth. The star has promised to entertain the fans soon enough.
