Orkut is most famous social networking site in India. Almost everyone use orkut. Many people get hacked by some bad people, the reason is they didn’t care about their account’s security. Never compromise with security. If you account hacked then the hacker can misuse it. Most of people are not hackers, they are just using some script or programs that made by others. Here are some tips to secure your account.
- As most of other sites, orkut will never ask you for username or password. If you get mail asking your account info then it must be a fake mail to hack your account. Orkut will never ask you this, remember this.
- Change your password regularly, at least once a month. Choose password that easy to remember and hard to guess.Don’t write your password anywhere. Many people write their password on notebooks near PC table or on mobile phones.
- Never share your account with anyone. There is no sense in sharing your account. Orkut is free and anyone can make their own account.
- Always log out after you done orkutting. If possible then clear cookies and cache.
- When login to orkut, don’t forget to check url http://www.orkut.com. If it is not there then don’t login. It may be phishing page.
- Don’t click on link that you are not sure. These days many people are getting scraps from some javascript. Don’t open these links. If you see any link on any profile, don’t open it.
You can use these tricks on any site that have username and password.
