In the light of some very disastrous movies, Bollywood is going through a low period – both financially and creatively. Even though there have been some critically acclaimed films like Shor In the City and No One Killed Jessica, but financial success has pretty much eluded Bollywood in the past 5 months.

In fact, only three movies, Yamla Pagla Deewana, Dil To Bachcha Hai Ji and Tanu Weds Manu were able to do somewhat decent business.

Therefore, Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar has decided to keep the budget of his next venture Heroine, to just Rs. 18 crore. He thinks that this will make this film that is being produced by UTV Motion Pictures, more commercially viable.

Known for his tight leash budgets, Madhur Bhandarkar has even been able to persuade his lead actors, Aishwarya and Arjun Rampal to lower their fee for the film. According to a source, “Every actor including Aishwarya Rai, Arjun Rampal and even Madhur Bhandarkar himself have slashed their fee.” Three other stars are yet to be finalized for the film.

According to another source, “It’s a sensible business decision. Ash and Arjun will be sharing the profits of the film. They are confident of Heroine‘s prospects at the box office.”

Siddharth Roy Kapoor, who is the CEO of UTV Motion Pictures said, “We have worked very successfully with Madhur in the past. Getting a film made within the right budget is crucial to insuring its commercial success. On Heroine too, we have insured the same.”

The shooting for Heroine will start from June 8th 2011.

Do Dooni Chaar, a Walt Disney film that is set to release today, seems to be quite impressive as far as the promos go. The typical tale of a Delhi family, which is middle class and therefore has all the problems that a middle class family faces, is quite a comeback for actor Neetu Singh who has been missing in action for some time now.

It is after 30 years that the Bollywood couple has returned to get together once again on the big screen. This comedy movie, which at the outset seems to be aimed at young children, also carries a noble message, or so the actors claim.

For the actors, the nostalgia of the 70s suddenly comes flushing back. With their son already making his own mark in the industry, the proud parents appear happy on the sets, as well as the movie. Perhaps it is this glow that will work for the movie, or the fact that many will simply flock to the theatres to see Neetu after such a long time.

Walt Disney is betting on the ‘family’ image and hoping that families with young children would definitely come to watch this clean, family flick that looks extremely promising from where we stand.

Ranbir Kapoor’s maiden stage show, starting off in early June will continue till mid July, covering over 16 cities of Europe, Canada and the US, the producers of the show being the Moranis and Rishi Kapoor.

This is the first time that Rishi Kapoor has been involved in producing a live show.  Rishi Kapoor said, “And why not? This is the first time that my son will be stepping on to a live stage. I want to make sure everything goes right. So yes, I’m producing and presenting the live concerts. With my experience in live concerts, I know I can be useful. I don’t want anything to go wrong for my son.”

Reliable sources have revealed that Rishi and his son would be appearing on stage together, for the first time ever.  Yes, Ranbir would be performing for the first time with his father, who is also a fantastic dancer.   Evading all questions on this topic Rishi says, “There’s talk on this. We’re thinking of a retro section. We’re exploring the possibility of me and Ranbir coming together. But right now I can’t tell you more on this.”

Rishi also tried to move away from questions on gossip about Deepika Padukone having not signed up for the event, perhaps expecting  some tense moments between  Deepika and Katrina when they had to spend so much time together at the event.

Rishi remarks, “All I can tell you is that we have Katrina, Priyanka and Shahid Kapoor on board. Deepika is likely to be on board. She hasn’t been signed on yet. No Bollywood concerts have happened abroad in the last three years.

Audiences abroad were bored of watching our stars perform the same songs over and over again. My boy has waited patiently for three years until he thought he was ready to face a live audience. He has turned down all offers to perform at awards function. And that’s his show’s USP. When actors perform at awards function these are beamed to dozens of countries across the world. Therefore there is no novelty left in watching a star dance on stage. My son has never been seen live.”

Apart from the above mentioned troupe, the show is also likely to rope in a Pakistani singer.
At the start of the series, the entourage would be covering Europe, Canada and America while during the second lap, supposedly in 2011, Ranbir is expected to cover South Africa and the Gulf.

Rumors were afloat, for some time now, about Shahid dating Priyanka, though confirmation has not been received from them as yet.   But the recent happenings are definitely hinting a relationship between the stars.  Earlier, Piggy Chops was seen being dropped by Shahid at the airport, as she left for Brazil for her schedule shoot of “Khatron Ke Khiladi 3”.

One of the suburban multiplexes was even graced by the presence of the rumored couple together at the screening of “Dabangg”.  During that visit to the theatre, the actress’s remark about her forthcoming release “Anjaana Anjaani” displeased Kapoor.  The point thatdisgruntled Ranbir was when Priyanka spoke about her co-star Ranbir. Is this insecurity we sense?

Apart from this Shahid was also not too pleased when he was told about the intimate scenes filmed in Priyanka’s forthcoming movie.  “Anjaana Anjaani” includes two loving kissing scenes between the two actors, Priyanka and Ranbir.  Now, what’s making Shahid feel so offended?  Is something cooking up between both of them who were also co-actors in “Kaminey”?

Actor Ranbir Kapoor has also been seen along with Priyanka Chopra a couple of times.  Priyanka’s lip lock scenes with Ranbir in the film are the new buzz in the industry.  

These kisses, were not part of the original script, but were supplemented at a much later stage at the US schedule.  The lip locks, being so sensational, had only the director, the light man and the cameraman present at the shoot.  Other crew members were asked to depart.

Because of the closeness of his relationship with Priyanka Chopra, Shahid Kapoor has not taken to these scenes very well. Reports are that she has received lots of gifts from him at Brazil, where “Khatron Ke Khiladi” is being shot.
