Hyundai has launched its latest version of i20 on Wednesday. i20 is the company’s premium compact car model and its new version has a number of new features. Costing between Rs. 4 lakh 52 thousand and Rs. 7 lakh 48 lakh, the company has added two new variants in this series.
According to Hyundai, new features have been added to the base model, Magna which is costs Rs. 4.91 lakh. The top end model Asta has also been re-launched with new features. Era and Sportz are the two new models which have been launch and are priced at Rs. 4.52 lakh and Rs.5.32 lakh, respectively. The launch of Era has now made it the cheapest model in the series. Both new versions have been launched in diesel and petrol variants.
After the launch of this new range of i20, all the diesel variants in Hyundai are available in six-speed manual transmission. Apart from this, the latest models of i20 have many other new features like in diesel variants there is manual transmission shift indicators in diesel variants and a prompt that will help the driver to save fuel by telling him shift gears.
Magna, now also has a temperature control system that is fully automatic and Asta and Sportz have steering wheel with audio remote, anti-theft alarm and vanity mirror for passenger.
A representative from Hyundai said that according to Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), these new petrol variants of i20 can deliver a mileage of 18.15 km per litre while the diesel variants can have a mileage of 21.93 km per litre. All the variant of the range comply with BS IV emission norms which have been introduced recently.
