The high level publicity of the Commonwealth Games in 2010 and the resulting branding opportunities from the event have increased the prospects of business relations of the Indian subcontinent with many countries. The upcoming games and related events have roused specific branding interests all over the world. Since India has also established itself as one of the strongest markets in the world, the opportunities for marketing brands and products are especially invaluable.
In this light, India organized a round table event in South Africa, specifically aimed at catalyzing enhanced relationship between the two countries. It is also envisaged that theĀ Preferential Trade Agreement between India and South Africa may see an early conclusion. This will be an extremely important step for the two countries.
India is also giving preferential treatment to South Africa for investing in the Commonwealth Games in order to develop markets together in both the African and the Sub Saharan areas.
