Ford Figo, the first compact car from Ford India was launched in Indian markets on Thursday. Ford has come out with both petrol and diesel versions for the car. While the ex-showroom price of petrol version starts from Rs. 3.49 lakh, the diesel variant is priced Rs. 4.47 lakh onwards.

Both versions of Figo are available in four models LXI, EXI, ZXI and Titanium. The four Figo models are made available with varied trim levels and diverse consumer tastes are accommodated in the design.

1.2-liter Duratec petrol engine is high on fuel efficiency at 15.6 kms per liter (35 mpg). Duratorq 1.4-litre diesel engine is equally good on fuel efficiency with 20 km per liter (47 mpg). However, the stress on fuel efficiency doesn’t take away its performance. While the petrol variant accelerates from 0-62mph in 15.5 seconds, the diesel version goes beyond this to achieve the same in 15.8 seconds.

Ford Figo comes with attractive features like speed sensing volume control of audio system, one flick lane changing indicator, distance-to-empty indicator and a warning system for dangerous level of deceleration. Figo has a large boot space (284 liter). The top-end Figo Titanium comes with dual airbags for front seats and antilock breaking system (ABS).

Ford Figo is built for Indian roads and Indian drivers. It has the widest wheelbase in the segment. Its improved chassis dynamics comes from new steering and suspension components.

During its launch in Bangalore, company Executive Director, Marketing, Sales & Service Nigel E Wark said, “We have competitively priced all four variants of the car. Figo offer more features, interior space, technology and durability than other vehicles at this price range in the segment.”
