As always, the Bachchan family sticks together through thick and thin. Contrary to what many believed, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Rajanikanth starrer Robot, did not tank at the Box Office. In fact, Rajanikanth, ever the legend, has delivered one more spectacular hit this year.

Where everyone has praised Rajanikanth to their heart’s content on being one of the most successful and celebrated male leads even at the dusk of his life, Aishwarya has not been able to bag much in the way of success through this humongous hit. Not to worry though, because Aishwarya’s father-in-law, the Big B himself, has only praises to bestow on his beautiful daughter in law. As always, the doting Bachchan has spared no lengths in praising Aishwarya’s acting prowess or her unethereal beauty. Now here is a father in law, who clearly is more than a father to her.

Big B believes that Aishwarya not only looks smashing in this movie, but has acted superb opposite the larger than life hero – Rajanikanth. Where any ordinary mortal would have got cold feet from being in the same room as Rajanikanth, Aishwarya has not only acted well, but has also shouldered the film to a box office success.

While there is not much to say at this point, it is pointless to hope that this mutual appreciation amongst the Bachchans is going to stop in the near future.

Do Dooni Chaar, a Walt Disney film that is set to release today, seems to be quite impressive as far as the promos go. The typical tale of a Delhi family, which is middle class and therefore has all the problems that a middle class family faces, is quite a comeback for actor Neetu Singh who has been missing in action for some time now.

It is after 30 years that the Bollywood couple has returned to get together once again on the big screen. This comedy movie, which at the outset seems to be aimed at young children, also carries a noble message, or so the actors claim.

For the actors, the nostalgia of the 70s suddenly comes flushing back. With their son already making his own mark in the industry, the proud parents appear happy on the sets, as well as the movie. Perhaps it is this glow that will work for the movie, or the fact that many will simply flock to the theatres to see Neetu after such a long time.

Walt Disney is betting on the ‘family’ image and hoping that families with young children would definitely come to watch this clean, family flick that looks extremely promising from where we stand.

Sajid Nadiadwala will be finally relieved today. After postponing his much awaited ‘Anjaana Anjaani’ a week to accommodate the much hyped ‘Ayodhya’ verdict, finally, the movie will hit the theaters. Sajid may have felt relieved when finally the verdict was delivered earlier today, clearing way for his movie to finally release.

Though Ajaana Anjaani is all set to release tomorrow, all is not settled yet. With the Ayodhya verdict having just been read, the entire country is on an edge, waiting for the worst to happen. Testing the air around, the media seems optimistic that calm will prevail and that no untoward incidences will happen. Yet, the security forces throughout the country have been put on a high alert so that immediate action can be taken if something out of the way happens.

This is not the first time that entertainment industry has been so affected by something which is political or religious in nature. In fact, there have been countless incidents where Bollywood has been affected by the political climate of the country.

Lets just hope today that Sajid’s worst fears are put to rest and that the country sleeps a few more nights of peace, while Anjaana Anjaani plays peacefully in theaters throughout the country.

When it comes to entertainment, Delhi is a sure fire hub of red tapism. Perhaps that is the reason many event planners try to give Delhi a complete miss when it comes to organization of shows like concerts, theater and other international events. The Delhi eye, recently caught itself in the midst of a real life red tapism situation. The Kalindi Kunj area, which witnessed an unprecedented crowd assembled to watch the inauguration of the Delhi Eye, a replica of the much renowned and famous London Eye, was up for a bout of violence.

All of this happened when instead of the superstar, King Khan, who was supposed to inaugurate the Delhi Eye, cops walked in and asked the event organizers, along with the 1000 odd people assembled especially to witness the inauguration, to clear out the venue.

What resulted from this obviously callous behavior of the Delhi police was sheer disappointment and traffic jams, not to mention an almost stampede like situation. If one has to feel bad, it has to be for the poor organizers of the event, who obviously put in a lot of effort as well as resources to bring together a great show, but went home empty handed, and perhaps feeling betrayed by Delhi.

Later, Shah Rukh Khan, the chief guest who was missing in action, told the press that his trip was wasted and that he felt very bad for the organizers. If it is any consolation, perhaps the Common Wealth Games will not be like this.
