Vivek Oberoi Finally Tying The Knot

Look who’s finally getting married. Vivek Oberoi! After struggling for years and then having a notoriously famous relationship with Aishwarya Rai, which not only took away his sanity, but also a little bit of hist dignity, Vivek Oberoi has decided to get married. Priyanka Alva, a Bangalore girl, met Vivek in Venice. It seems that the most romantic city in the world did its magic on them because they immediately went for an hour long walk which left Vivek reeling and completely besotted.

As an actor, Vivek has proved his mettle time and again, first with Company, then with Shootout at Lokhandwala and recently with Raktacharitra. Unluckily for him, he has made too many enemies in Bollywood, to be really noticed anymore. Let’s see if this wedding and with the lady luck by his side, if that aspect of his life changes. After being through some tough times in the industry, it is wonderful that Vivek has at least something to look forward to.

Let’s hope that with Vivek’s D-Day, comes the success and the accolades that he so certainly deserves.

Amitabh’s Show Gathers More TRP Than Akshay’s or Salman’s

It seems there’s no defeating Amitabh Bachchan anywhere. For decades, he has ruled the big screen with panache and now, with his small screen avatar in Kaun Banega Crorepati, he has done it again.

It is no wonder that the TRP of KBC is much higher than the other prime time shows hosted by Bollywood biggies like Salman and Akshay Kumar, both of whom are hosting some popular reality shows. While Big Boss is still relatively high up in the TRP race with Master Chef trailing right behind, KBC, in its first week itself, has completely overtaken both the shows.

A Unit member from the team of Master Chef shines some light on this, claiming that each reality show has its own sensibilities and therefore its own format and a loyal fan following. Kaun Banega Crorepati has been going on for a few seasons now and it would not be fair to compare it to the brand new format of Master Chef. Yet, the TRPs suggest that the fan following of Amitabh is much more than the youngsters could ever hope to achieve. Though it is true that all three shows are targeted towards different demographics, it is only the TRP that can convey the success or the failure of any of these shows.

Salman Raises Concern For Cancer

The bad boy of Bollywood, Salman, has been known to have a soft spot for the poor and the suffering. It wasn’t too long ago when Salman was known to offer a new bicycle to a girl who’s bicycle got accidentally crushed under his wheels. Salman has also had the knack of appearing at many charitable events and other fund raising and social awareness events. In fact, a few years ago, Salman played a cameo in the Revathy’s heart rendering ‘Phir Milenge’, where he played the role of a man infected with HIV AIDS.

After advocating for poverty alleviation schemes, and for a better life for AIDS patients, Salman has now turned his attention to cancer patients. Salman believes that cancer patients should have a right to livelihood for as long as they are capable of working. He went as far as to say that a person who terminated the employment of a terminal cancer patient, will be terminated from this world by god himself.

Salman runs his own non governmental organization known as ‘Being Human’. His NGO picks up a variety of pertinent issues that might seem daunting to the society. The actor has pledge his own support to cancer patients and has also asked for his fans to support them as well.

Hrithik And Shah Rukh Catching Up In Berlin

Hrithik Roshan and Shah Rukh Khan are good friends and everyone knows about it. However, it was made a little more evident a few days ago when Hrithik took a break from his routine and actually went all the way to Berlin, to catch up with his good old friend Shah Rukh. Well, isn’t it stretching this a bit? We all know how friends want to be with each other and want to share intimate details of their lives, but to actually go to Berlin to catch up? Well these are simply perks of the gliterati.

Not that anyone is complaining! This meeting of Shah Rukh and Hrithik brings together two of the hottest hunks of Bollywood, and they must have surely put Berlin on fire. As if this twosome wasn’t enough, they were soon joined in by Karan Johar, Farhan Akhtar, Lara Dutta and Priyanka Chopra – the more the merrier.

It seems that all of these celebrities are hell bent on turning the sets of Don 2 to a non stop junction of partying and revelry. Well, all the best to them!

The Bachchans Mutual Appreciation Society

As always, the Bachchan family sticks together through thick and thin. Contrary to what many believed, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Rajanikanth starrer Robot, did not tank at the Box Office. In fact, Rajanikanth, ever the legend, has delivered one more spectacular hit this year.

Where everyone has praised Rajanikanth to their heart’s content on being one of the most successful and celebrated male leads even at the dusk of his life, Aishwarya has not been able to bag much in the way of success through this humongous hit. Not to worry though, because Aishwarya’s father-in-law, the Big B himself, has only praises to bestow on his beautiful daughter in law. As always, the doting Bachchan has spared no lengths in praising Aishwarya’s acting prowess or her unethereal beauty. Now here is a father in law, who clearly is more than a father to her.

Big B believes that Aishwarya not only looks smashing in this movie, but has acted superb opposite the larger than life hero – Rajanikanth. Where any ordinary mortal would have got cold feet from being in the same room as Rajanikanth, Aishwarya has not only acted well, but has also shouldered the film to a box office success.

While there is not much to say at this point, it is pointless to hope that this mutual appreciation amongst the Bachchans is going to stop in the near future.
