The wedding fever has gripped Bollywood, and the excitement in the air is palpable. B-Town’s wild child Ranveer Singh and leading lady Deepika Padukone are all set to exchange garlands on November 14 and 15 at Villa del Balbianello, Lake Como, Italy.
The couple, who left for Italy in the wee hours of Saturday (November 10), exchanged rings after a Phool Muddi ceremony on November 13. For those unaware, in this traditional Konkani ceremony, the bride’s father welcomes the bridegroom’s parents. Deepika’s father Prakash Padukone gave Ranveer a coconut and formally welcomed him to the family. Following this, they exchanged rings.
Ranveer’s hair stylist Nitasha Gaurav, who has gone from India to attend the functions, tweeted yesterday, “No pictures, but it was love personified to see them together today. Couldn’t stop my tears, but these were tears of happiness.”
Ranveer and Deepika had a lavish sangeet ceremony this afternoon at Casta Diva, a luxury resort on the east side of Lake Como, in the pretty village of Blevio.
We told you earlier that Bollywood singer Harshdeep Kaur and her team were performing at the sangeet. The playlist included wedding favourites like Kala Sha Kala, Mehendi Hai Rachney Wali, Mehendi Ni Mehendi, and Gur Naal Ishq Mitha. It was a Punjabi-style function, with guests dancing to beats of the dhol.
