Recent press reports from South indicate that South superstar Kamal hasan and “Dabang”
fame Sonakshi Sinha will appear as the romantic pair in the upcoming Tamil
film “Viswaroopam”.

Sonakshi is currently riding high on the success of “Dabang” both among critics as well
as common viewers and Kamal hasan is a legend in his own rights with numerous offbeat
performances behind in his illustrious career.

To add to this there is Shreya Saran who currently has only one project in
hand; “Rwothiram” opposite Jeeva. But her as well as Jeeva’s fans have a lot of
expectations since Jeeva already has back to back heats in “Singampuli” and “Ko” ,
both making roaring business in box office. Despite Shreya’s rough rides in 2010, the
expectations are quite high.

“Viswaroopam” that was originally slotted to be directed by Selvaraghavan will now be
directed by Kamal Hassan himself. Incidentally the film is going to mark the Tamil debut of
sexy Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha with Shreya Saran playing the second lead.

While her pairing with Karthi in “Saguni” did not materialize finally, Shreya is confident
enough that “Rowthiram” will bring her back in to reckoning in Tamil films. Role
in “Viswaroopam” would be great booster to her otherwise sagging carrier as it would also
open up new vistas for Sonakshi as well.

Almost every actress in the industry craves to work with Kamal Hasan whose reputation as
super star of the South can only be matched by Rajanikantha, the other super star in his
own rights.

Movie after movie, Kamal Hasan has given sterling performances and even he might not
remember how many awards he has own in the process including everyone from National to
the regional.

It remains to be seen how the legend and young blood mix up creating sizzling bonfire.

In the light of some very disastrous movies, Bollywood is going through a low period – both financially and creatively. Even though there have been some critically acclaimed films like Shor In the City and No One Killed Jessica, but financial success has pretty much eluded Bollywood in the past 5 months.

In fact, only three movies, Yamla Pagla Deewana, Dil To Bachcha Hai Ji and Tanu Weds Manu were able to do somewhat decent business.

Therefore, Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar has decided to keep the budget of his next venture Heroine, to just Rs. 18 crore. He thinks that this will make this film that is being produced by UTV Motion Pictures, more commercially viable.

Known for his tight leash budgets, Madhur Bhandarkar has even been able to persuade his lead actors, Aishwarya and Arjun Rampal to lower their fee for the film. According to a source, “Every actor including Aishwarya Rai, Arjun Rampal and even Madhur Bhandarkar himself have slashed their fee.” Three other stars are yet to be finalized for the film.

According to another source, “It’s a sensible business decision. Ash and Arjun will be sharing the profits of the film. They are confident of Heroine‘s prospects at the box office.”

Siddharth Roy Kapoor, who is the CEO of UTV Motion Pictures said, “We have worked very successfully with Madhur in the past. Getting a film made within the right budget is crucial to insuring its commercial success. On Heroine too, we have insured the same.”

The shooting for Heroine will start from June 8th 2011.

According to some sources, some parts of Amitabh Bachchan’s upcoming movies Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap are being changed. The shooting of the movie has almost been complete, but looks like the filmmakers are not yet satisfied with what they’ve got.

This can also be the reason why Mr. Bachchan is himself taking keen interest in the creative aspects of the movie. He has been seen giving many suggestions and creative inputs. He is taking a lot of interest in the post-production work of the movie.

According to sources, Big B wants to add a touch of romance in the movie. The source told us, “Mr Bachchan is really excited about Bbuddah... He is going all-out to ensure that every department of the film is perfect. He felt that the film is too action-oriented and there isn’t enough romance.

So, he has asked director Puri Jagannath to add some romantic elements in the midst of all the push and shove.”

Listening to Mr. Bachchan’s advice, film’s director Jagannath has now decided to add a better touch of romance in the movie and is reshooting a song with Sonu Sood and Sonal Chauhan, who have a romantic angle in the movie.

“When Amitji listened to the song he felt that it was not melodic enough. He requested music composers Vishal-Shekhar to compose another duet,” said a source. Hence, even the song is now being redone.

Sonu Sood has admitted that such changes are being done. He said, “He (Mr. Bachchan) felt the song was not romantic enough. It’s been re-done. We will shoot it next week.”

Karan Johar is hoping for a quiet birthday, today. The filmmaker, who turns 39 on May 25th, says that he is going to attend the Kolkata Knight Riders Match with his friends, including King Khan. He said, “Am I expecting a surprise on my birthday? Umm… not at all! I don’t like surprises. I would rather not have a birthday party and enjoy a match.”

But according to some internal sources, Shahrukh has planned something very special for Karan Johar. There may be a cake cutting ceremony and the party may even move to Mannat, if KKR wins the match.

When asked about Shahrukh, Karan said, “I am scared of Shah Rukh. It’s the same way one is scared of his elder brother. He is senior to me in the industry and he also gets to scolds me when I go wrong. When Shah Rukh is scolding me, silence is the only answer. He is like a guardian to me and somebody who is an integral part of my family. I am best friends with his wife, Gauri too, but Shah Rukh is somebody I am not friends with. It’s got more to do with love and respect you have for your elder brother.”

The two stars are now virtual competitors, since Shahrukh also owns a production house. But this has not created any distance between them.

“Every good friend of mine in the industry has his or her own production house. In fact, that has always been the case. We are into different spaces and we all make movies together. It actually helps us that everybody is in the same field,” said Karan.

Rumours are going around that the sequel to Karan’s hit film, Dostana has been shelved. This prompted us to ask him why none of have had sequels. To this a smiling Karan said, “I like to tell the story at one go and most of the stories that I have told finish there. If I really get a story which is worth a sequel, I am definitely going to make it. But for that, it has to be a really good story that is worth it.”

Here’s hoping for that “great” story and wishing you a very Happy Birthday, Mr. Johar!
